The Singers Showcase is primarily for Natasha’s vocal students to give them a valuable performance opportunity. Only so much can be learned in the classroom when it comes to performance & Natasha is also aware that many students work very hard on improving their vocal & performance skills and then don’t necessarily have the chance to show their hard work or gain live performance experience. These Showcases provide a performance opportunity, a chance to put into practice what has been learned, a basis on which to assess and review future tuition and direction and a chance to show all the hard work each student has put into their vocal lessons.
Once a year Natasha puts together a live band of top professional musicians to accompany the singers at a reputable London live music venue, complete with lights and professional sound-system. The event always proves to be a massive hit both with students and the audience of family, friends and the general public alike.
Special lessons and workshops take place in the lead up to a Showcase to coach students through their performance pieces, teach them handy tips on subjects like microphone technique, audience communication, choreography and staging, singing with a live band & ensemble/group singing for example, as well as rehearsals with the band.
Showcases are invaluable experience to students, particularly those who don’t have regular performance opportunities. If the thought of singing in public terrifies you but deep down you’d like to face the challenge, you couldn’t get a more supportive, friendly but professional environment to ‘have a go’. Some students have made their debut performance at one of the Showcases when they initially would never have believed they could have the confidence & ability to perform publicly.
